History of the Faculty

 

           Faculty of Engineering Economics, Media Technologies and Social Sciences was formed according to decree № 1987 of 16 May, 2016 issued by Georgian Technical University.

          17 educational programs are implemented on all 3 levels (baccalaureate, master’s degree level, doctorate level); there is also the Georgian language training program available for foreign students.The following academic departments function in the same format: department of Georgian philology and media technologies, department of archaeology and history of Georgia, department of engineering economics, department of public relations, department of social sciences, department of foreign languages. There are also a number of centres, laboratories, a research institute and a TV centre. These are: Educational and scientific centre of theology,  Educational and research Institute of European studies, University educational and scientific centre for research in Kartvelology, Translation centre, Educational and research laboratory of archaeology, Laboratory  for modeling economic processes, Laboratory of media technologies and GTU net TV.

           The first and foremost goal of the newly created faculty is to provide students with the high- quality educational and research environment that will comply with modern standards and to ensure a worthy place in the sphere of education.
